Wedding music on Lake Como: live band, voice and DJ

Wedding music on Lake Como live band, voice and DJ

Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in the world to marry. So the music that fills that setting has to live up to it. For a wedding on the lake, I bring live music, a band and a DJ under one musical direction. In this way, from the ceremony to the party, every moment sounds exactly as the day deserves.

A wedding on Lake Como: an Australian-Italian celebration at Villa del Grumello

One of the weddings I hold closest was a summer celebration at Villa del Grumello, on Lake Como. The couple, one Australian and one Italian, brought together a beautiful mix of cultures. Meanwhile, a wedding planner curated the setting and the catering.

Their brief was clear and refined. They wanted everyone to have fun, but with elegance and that Italian touch that turns a party into beauty. In other words, not loud and not too folk, but tasteful, and always in tune with the moment. Above all, they wanted something modern and cool, rather than vintage. For me, this is home. Beyond the classic acoustic Italian flair, I also bring Italian songs rearranged with modern, personal sounds.

The real challenge was pleasing both worlds at once. The Italian guests would not forgive the obvious, yet the Italian soul had to stay. Moreover, the couple did not want a rigid programme. Instead, they wanted to follow the vibe of the evening. That is harder than a fixed setlist. Still, it is how I love to work, because the perfect setlist does not exist. In the end, the moments have to be felt, then accompanied in music.

How I read the evening

The atmosphere arrived on its own, and early. In fact, during the aperitif one couple already started to dance. As a result, the shared mood was set for the whole night.

The turning point came after a toast. The best man gave a witty, charming speech. Then I went straight into an Italian song that everyone knows and loves. Suddenly, dinner turned into a collective, joyful singalong. It was not in any programme. However, I felt it was the moment, so I opened it.

Throughout the evening, I chose songs to underline what was happening in the room. For example, when the speeches moved people to tears or to laughter, the music was there to hold that emotion, rather than cover it.

The right formation for a Lake Como wedding

For this wedding, I brought a quartet plus a complete, versatile DJ. Together, they could give show moments and performance, or step back and colour the evening in different shades. Meanwhile, the repertoire moved from jazzy to pop, and then to deep and dance towards the end, with Italian-flair interludes throughout.

Above all, there was no break between the live set and the DJ. With the Voice & DJ Experience, the evening flowed from live music into the DJ set without a gap. As a result, it carried the guests until late. Indeed, this is the seamless, hybrid format that weddings increasingly ask for.

A day the couple could feel, moment by moment

The couple were surprised moment after moment. The details told the story too. First, I began in an outfit coordinated with the cyclamen of the setting. Then I moved to an Italian-flair look. Finally, I closed the night in sequins. The result is in the room, and in the videos: everyone dancing and singing, genuinely having fun.

The lesson

For a wedding like this, the thing that makes the difference is not a repertoire list. It is versatility and the ability to read the air, rather than following a script or a one-size-fits-all format.
